Ron Watt Sr. Vice President, Creative Counsel

Ron Watt Sr. is a nationally respected marketing and PR strategist with deep expertise in electrification, grid modernization, and smart city infrastructure. As Vice President and Creative Counsel at Watt + Company, he brings decades of experience advising corporations, government agencies, and utilities on energy and infrastructure communications.

He has worked with OSHA and NIOSH on electrification in industrial environments and advised GE Industrial Solutions on the launch of its WattStation EV charging stations. For GE Energy, he helped shape its Smart Cities electrification program. Watt Sr. also consulted Cleveland mayors on cross-city energy systems and served on utility advisory boards during the formation of FirstEnergy. Internationally, he advised the Canadian government under Prime Minister Jean Chrétien on grid integration and policy strategy.

His broader career includes leadership of one of the Midwest’s largest independent PR firms and strategic counsel to brands such as Ford, Owens-Corning, Sherwin-Williams, and Citibank. An accomplished jazz pianist, he is a PRSA Fellow, a member of the Cleveland Advertising Federation’s Hall of Fame, and the author of seven books.
